For more than 130 years Americans have been lighting their homes and workplaces with the same light bulb created by Thomas Edison in 1879. The incandescent light bulb has not changed much over the years, but beginning Jan. 1, 2012 it will be wiped from store shelves and no longer available for consumers. Though this may come as a shock to some, South Florida business owner and automated lighting veteran Marcel Fairbairn has seen this coming for years.
