LED Source® was founded in 2005 by partners Marcel Fairbairn, Gavin Cooper and Cynthia Viteri but that really wasn't the beginning of the story.

Our President, Marcel Fairbairn, is a 20 year veteran of the Entertainment Lighting industry where he held Executive roles with 3 prominent manufacturers. In 2002, Marcel founded another successful "Source" company, industry leading GearSource who's site, www.GearSource.com™ is the top destination for buyers and sellers of production inventory including sound, lighting, video and staging gear.

Also in 2002, Marcel founded AVR USA in partnership with UK manufacturer, AVR Lighting who were an early producer of LED lighting products. Through AVR, Marcel met his soon to be partner, Gavin Cooper and the future was shaped.

In 2005, the pair shut down AVR USA and began building a new and more diverse company that would serve the lighting community with LED expertise and supply that was previously scattered at best. Along with their third partner Cynthia Viteri, an employee in Gear-Source®, the group went hard to work.

Since 2005, LED Source® has become the leading distributor for top brands including Philips Lighting, Philips Color Kinetics, Coemar, Cree, EcoSense, Lunera, Lighting Science Group and Toshiba. The company's clients include a cross section of end users and resellers from every area of Entertainment lighting, Architectural lighting and now, Retrofit.
