OUR MANAGEMENT AND SALES TEAM
President and CEO: Marcel Fairbairn – Mr. Fairbairn is the “visionary” behind the company and combined with his entrepreneurial thinking, keeps LED Source® looking ahead. A 20-year veteran of the automated lighting industry, he founded LED Source® in 2005 with his business partner Gavin Cooper. Marcel has previously held executive roles with various prominent entertainment lighting manufacturers including Martin and High End Systems. In 2002, he founded Gear-Source® (www.GearSource.com), the top destination for buyers and sellers of entertainment production inventory. That same year he founded AVR USA in partnership with UK manufacturer, AVR Lighting, who was an early producer of LED lighting products.
VP / Managing Director: Gavin Cooper – Mr. Cooper is responsible for the LED product line and continues to find new groundbreaking technologies that keep LED Source® ahead of the wave. Through his varied background in lighting manufacturing in Europe, Gavin has helped to pioneer changes in LED lighting here in North America. Known as the "MacGyver of LED lighting," he has become an integral partner forming long-term relationships with many clients.
Controller and Partner: Betsy Torres – Few people have both lighting and accounting background. Mrs. Torres spent almost 10 years with two other lighting manufacturers while working alongside our President, Marcel Fairbairn. Betsy joined LED Source® in 2008 with 25 years accounting experience and works closely with the management team on franchising, HR and other operational issues.
General Partner: Cynthia Viteri – Ms. Viteri manages the LED Source® business development for the Latin market. Cynthia is also a vital member of the Gear-Source® sales team and has worked for the company since its inception. She has spent more than 10 years in professional lighting sales and her experience in rental and production lighting has positioned her as an expert in the Latin markets
Vice President of Sales: Grif Palmer - Mr. Palmer brings over 20 years sales, management and operational skills to lead the sales team at LED Source®. Grif has a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Texas and has held several key leadership positions in the lighting, video and entertainment sectors. As former Vice President of Sales at High End Systems and most recently as a Business Development Consultant at Barco, Mr. Palmer has established himself as key industry executive. Grif is also active in the event and production community and was an Advisory Board Member for Entertainment Design/LDI and Oxford Publishing.
Vice President of Franchise Development: Dan Ocasio – Mr. Ocasio joined LED Source® in 2009 and brings 25 years of lighting experience, most recently as a rep for the world's leading LED retrofit brand, Cree. He also worked as the Northeast regional sales manager for Kichler Lighting, where he obtained specialized training in lamps and lighting fixtures. Dan has extensive experience in both residential and commercial lighting designs and has strong public speaking, presentation and people skills. He has managed and trained several large organizations, and developed various sales and franchising programs.
Vice President of Business Development: Joe Zamore – Mr. Zamore is responsible for new business, product and technology opportunities. Joe’s lighting design career has spanned three decades involving projects for some of the world’s most renowned facilities. As the former Vice President of product development for EcoSense and a product development consultant for Lightolier, he has obtained the experience and knowledge to be admired by his peers as one of the true “experts” in LED lighting. Joe has also aided in helping some of the leading LED manufacturers to set a standard and performance level that is used today. Throughout his career, Joe has been awarded multiple Lumen Awards and won the IESNA Paul Waterbury Award of Excellence for Outdoor Lighting Design in 2003.
Director of Marketing: Dean Ernst – Mr. Ernst is a true entrepreneur at heart and has a passion for technology. As the founder of three successful businesses in the music industry, he forever changed the landscape by creating the standard for the secure digital delivery of music. Dean has both a broadcasting and real estate background and has consulted on Internet technology and social marketing for several Fortune 500 companies. His accomplishments include creating marketing campaigns for some of today’s biggest recording artists and being a judge for the Canadian Juno Awards. Dean is responsible for creating the LED Source® branding and messaging. He works closely with the management team and franchisees to ensure a consistent marketing message in the marketplace.
Retofit Sales Associate: Troy Dockery - Mr. Dockery is a 15 year lighting industy vetern. He has a theatrical design and installation background and also certification for Electronic Theatre Controls. Troy was instrumental in the design and installation during the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia. His past employment includes working for Martin Systems where he was a key figure working with the Walt Disney Corporation and their theme parks. Troy also worked with Philips Color Kinetics and performed the role of Regional Sales. Troy is certified in both technical and sales training on all Philips Color Kinetic products, and is also certified in N Light Energy Management Systems.
Retrofit Sales Assoicate: Jason Ernstam - Mr. Ernstam was born Northern California but now calls South Florida his home. Jason obtained extensive lighting experience while working at a local lighting supplier, where he later became the top sales representative two years running. He has worked with many of the business, bars and nightclubs throughout West Palm Beach where he has established key relationships.
LED Lighting Consultant, Entertainment Division: Dorel Baila – Since graduating from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Mr. Baila started working for LED Source® in 2008. He is accredited with various technical training for Philips Color Kinetics and Element Labs LED lighting and has established valuable contacts in the entertainment industry. Dorel set several company sales records in 2009 and is a valuable member of the LED Source® team. His work can be seen in various nightclubs, TV studios, restaurants and theme parks throughout the U.S.
Coemar Sales Manager: Jerry Mitchell - Mr. Mitchell is the Coemar Sales Manager for the Entertainment Division at LED Source®. A native Floridian, Jerry has extensive lighting design and programming experience and has been involved with some of the largest corporate shows in the nation. He holds several technical training certificates and is considered one of the top lighting design experts. Jerry is a true industry veteran and his passion is evident in all he does.
Inside Sales and Logistics: Timm Stifter – Mr. Stifter started working for Gear-Source® in 2006 and was originally hired as an accountant. He later become a member of the sales team and aided in the daily operations. Upon succeeding in that role, he joined LED Source® in 2009 due to his vast accomplishments and excellent performance history. Timm is a graduate of the University of Dublin where he studied literature and finance.
Supply Chain Manager: Cate Gibbons - Ms. Gibbons joined LED Source® in 2010 and brings over 5 years experience in customer service and management, most recently working at Philips Color Kinetics. A graduate from the University of Massachusetts with a major in Marketing and a minor in Psychology, Cate is responsible for supply chain management and vendor relationships.
Mascot: LouMan – LouMan was born October 31, 2009 and has become our official mascot and a bit of a happiness director. Since coming in to LED Source®, LouMan has started a Blog plus a Racing Team and has had a whole lot of fun too.
