The main dining area, was the most challenging part of the restuarant to illuminate, explained Gordon Addison, who specified all the fixtures for the project, working with White Box Architecture, to create a stunning, but not over powering effect, to create a feast for the senses as well as a feast on the dining table.
The main dining area, was the most challenging part of the restuarant to illuminate, explained Gordon Addison, who specified all the fixtures for the project, working with White Box Architecture, to create a stunning, but not over powering effect, to create a feast for the senses as well as a feast on the dining table.
The resturant consists of 3 main areas, shown here is the walkway between the main entrance, which leads into the main dining area. To create a prelude to the main event, Whitebox came up with the water feature idea, but then called on Gordon's innovation to come up with a product that could illuminate the feature. With the help of an IP67 rated housing, he used the Color Kinetics MRg2 fixture, that was a perfect fit for the fixture and to complement all the other Color Kinetics product used on this project.
The feature wall in the main dining area was constucted of molded plaster tiles. Illumination was achieved using MX Cove Powercore Narrow beam, which have the power to throw up the wall, creating the finishing touch to the wall feature.
The MRg2 fixtures not only illuminate the water feature they also create enough ambient light to light up the the entire walkway.
Control of the project was achieved using Color Kinetics NEW iPlayer 3 controller with Color Play 3 Software. This allowed zoning of the entire restaurant, for overall ambient lighting for early evening, or a full on party atmosphere for later in the evening or private party bookings.
Showing the versatile options of the fixtures and control, every area was adressed seperatly to allow a differant color in each area. The party mode sends a Rainbow effect through the entire restaurant, a feature the owner uses to full effect when celebrating a birthday,or special occasion.
With the clever use of White light the project is given balance to create the perfect dining experiance.

Setting the mood for the entire evening, the relaxing atmosphere is the perfect place to sit and have a pre-dinner cocktail.
The overall effect of using LED lighting for this project was more than just the stunning end result.
